Hi, and thank you for visiting this web site. The home page told you what our organization is dedicated to accomplishing. This page will hopefully give you an inkling of the person who inspired it.
Debra Pieri.
We met in high school and soon became friends. We doubled for our senior prom and were roommates in Nursing School. I was a bridesmaid in her wedding and honored to be Godmother of her first-born daughter. But that’s about me.
Debbie was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend and then some. I think she’d say her greatest accomplishment was her children. She was fiercely proud of them. She instilled in them an ability to be who they are, to develop their own personalities and person. A job well done.
Debbie was a wise sage, the apple that fell from her mother’s tree. She did believe in destiny and she was destined to be great. As with most great persons, we realize it more after passing than when they ebb through our lives. She was a mentor, a negotiator, a nurse, oh and yes, quite a shopper.
She shared her opinions openly, her feelings privately. Debbie appeared nonchalant but had a will of iron and a dedication to anyone who had a need. Suffice it to say, she gave her time helping those less fortunate, and few knew, including me.
Debbie wasn’t prone to drama. So her illness over the years remained a private matter. But through that she tried to teach all who would listen that this life is truly not a dress rehearsal. Be all you can, do all you can.
Debbie’s eyes spoke- before her mouth formed the words. And to look into them was to know the depth of her affection. Her children saw it, felt it, and carry it on. Please help them do that.
